Why Every IV Starts With a Medical Screening

When you book mobile IV therapy with ReJEN Mobile Health, the first step isn't the IV. It's a conversation about your health. Every client completes a medical screening, called a Good Faith Exam, before treatment.

If you're new to IV therapy, you might wonder why this step matters or what it involves. Here's a plain-language look at what the Good Faith Exam is, why we never skip it, and what happens if IV therapy isn't the right fit for you.

ReJEN Mobile Health provides mobile IV therapy throughout Greater Phoenix, including Anthem, Phoenix, Cave Creek, Carefree, New River, Scottsdale, Glendale, and Peoria.

What Is a Good Faith Exam?

A Good Faith Exam is a medical screening completed before you receive IV therapy. It gives our team a clear picture of your health so a licensed provider can decide whether treatment is appropriate for you.

At ReJEN, your Good Faith Exam takes place in person before your first IV, and as needed after that. Our supervising nurse practitioner reviews and approves every treatment.

What Happens During the Screening?

The screening is quick and straightforward. We'll ask about:

  • Your health history and any current medical conditions
  • Medications and supplements you take
  • Allergies, including any to medications or ingredients
  • Past experiences with IVs, if you've had one before
  • How you're feeling on the day of your visit

We may also check basic vital signs, such as your blood pressure and heart rate.

Your intake forms and consent are completed through a secure, HIPAA-compliant system, so your personal health information stays private.

Why the Screening Matters

IV therapy is a medical treatment, and every person's health is different. The screening helps our provider make an informed decision about whether IV therapy is appropriate for you and which options make sense.

It's also why honest, complete answers are so important. Something that seems minor, like a new medication or a recent illness, can be exactly what your provider needs to know.

We believe a careful screening is part of what responsible IV care looks like. It's not a formality. It's how we put your safety first.

Why Some People May Not Be a Fit

IV therapy isn't right for everyone, and that's okay. Depending on your screening, our provider may decide to delay treatment, adjust it, or recommend that you not receive an IV at all.

Some situations that may affect whether IV therapy is appropriate include:

  • Certain heart, kidney, or blood pressure conditions
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Allergies to ingredients used in an IV
  • Medications that may not be compatible with treatment
  • Feeling unwell in a way that needs other medical care

This isn't a complete list, and having one of these doesn't automatically mean you can't receive IV therapy. Your provider looks at your full picture and uses their clinical judgment. If IV therapy isn't the right choice, we'll let you know and may suggest that you follow up with your primary care provider.

And if you're not a fit, you won't be charged. We don't charge a consultation fee.

What About Teens?

Clients ages 10 to 17 can receive IV therapy with a parent or legal guardian present for the entire visit, including the screening, and a signed consent form on file.

What Happens After Your Screening?

If our provider determines IV therapy is appropriate for you, your registered nurse moves forward with your visit and stays with you throughout your session. To see the full process from booking to cleanup, read What to Expect During Your First Mobile IV Therapy Visit.
